Several things occured late in the week that have postponed our opening day…I sincerely apologize! I’m so anxious and excited to get the doors open BUT we do want the experience to be a good one for everyone involved. So the extra week will help ensure that your visit to the entire community center building is a positive experience with minimal hassles!
Exciting news! Please save the date and come to the library on our opening day! I haven’t planned everything out just yet but I hope to have a least a few fun things.
I know this much: you will be able to check out BOOKS and those of you who applied for your library card early will be able to pick up those cards! There is still time to get your application in early so your card is ready on opening day. Stop into the community center at the main desk in the entry, or come visit me just barely down the hall in the library. I have adult and child application forms for the cards. Please remember these cards are temporary, and our permanent plastic cards will arrive later this summer. Please bring a picture ID with you to pick up your card on or after July 1st. Minors who do not have a picture ID can bring a parent or guardian with their ID. We will NOT be charging for library cards at this time, no matter where you live. I really want to make our library available to as many people as possible!
While you’re here on the blog, why not cruise over to the main page (at the top of the page, you’ll see a heading labeled “HOME“…that’s the main page!) and look over on the right hand side, under the heading “MENU“. (You might only need to jump through those hoops if you’re on a mobile device…my desktop display of this page shows the “MENU” option on the right hand side of the screen!) I have our circulation policy and donation policy posted!
Speaking of donations, I am ready and willing to accept your generous donations of GENTLY USED books! Please review our policy prior to making your donation. The best time to get those books to me this coming week is Monday through Friday, 9am-5pm. I will be in the library on Saturday, but I’m not sure for how long. If you want to come Saturday, please contact me at the library (701) 664-3191 option 2 and we can discuss a good time. Otherwise, you are welcome to bring them after we open on the first!
I’ve been buried in books and have not updated this blog as much as I’d like. It’s definitely something that will get a little more attention once the craziness of setup has diminished.
BUT, I did want to remind everyone about the North Dakota State Library Moon rock exhibition … it’s TONIGHT! Come visit with us at the Tioga Community Library and see NASA’s collection of lunar rocks and meteorite disks. While you’re there, you can take a peek around the library and see our progress.
I will have applications available for your library cards! The cards are not here quite yet but I decided to make the applications available now. You can fill one out, leave it at the library and I will put everything into the computer once the cards arrive. There will be NO CHARGE for your card, regardless of where you live. When we open – and I promise it’s going to be very soon – you can just bring a photo ID to pick up your card! FYI, minors 12 and under will need a parent/guardian signature on their application. If you can’t make it to the event tonight, the applications will be available at both the library starting this afternoon at 5pm.
